Fall-Winter 2021/2022 decorating trends deciphered by Square's International

What better time to take stock of the upcoming decorating trends than at the beginning of the new school year? Square's International takes a look at the best of the best at the semi-annual Maison & Objets show, Sept. 2021 edition.

Twice a year, this event brings together industry professionals to set the tone for the major trends in decoration.

For decorating enthusiasts, Square's International presents a selection of trends that we would love to see in our interiors:

These new materials that create a buzz

More than ever, in order to stick to the new consumption patterns, the big names in design have tried to rethink with intelligence the design of furniture with eco-responsible materials. We find chairs made from recycled plastic, or handcrafted decorative objects made of ceramic.

Natural fibers such as cane are making a comeback and are being reinvited into our interiors this year, in a revisited and especially modernized way. The dark shades of wood also occupy an important place in the new collections, with a form more worked and carved with finesse.

In terms of materials, soft textiles such as wool, velvet and "moumoute" are at the forefront. Comfort and aesthetics combine to make your rooms cozy and sophisticated.

♦ Discovery of the shades that will give rhythm to your interiors of tomorrow

Terracotta, a warm color with a very autumnal spirit, arrives within your interiors, offering infinite possibilities of associations and decoration.

Burnt orange, a warm new color. You may recognize it, the burnt orange, this color flagship of the 70s is making a comeback on the catwalks. This is not an isolated case, recently we observe a return of the universe of these happy years, in search of a more friendly lifestyle.

Brown, always in shades inspired by Mother Nature. This soothing, elegant and refined hue brings a lot of character to your rooms. Ideal to match your dark wood furniture and accessories.

Klein blue, an iconic shade by Yves Klein. This luminous blue, which has become a must-have, once again marks its presence in our catalogs. It perfectly dresses your walls in a room with beautiful volumes.

And finally, moss green, when well combined, offers an incomparable freshness. Opt for light and neutral tones such as white, off-white or beige. For an interior with character, try combining moss green with black accessories.

Trends with very promising looks to flatter our interiors this year. Both in terms of materials that reflect current concerns that tend towards an ecological transition in our homes, as well as new colors that bring warmth and serenity. A decorative landscape that seduces us at Square's International!

And you, what is the trend you will adopt?
